    Nominations for Take Pride in America Federal Land Manager and Public Lands Volunteers Awards - Suspense 8 August 2012
    Nominations for the annual Take Pride in America Federal Land Manager Award are requested. The suspense is 8 August 2012. This award honors an outstanding Corps employee who exemplifies innovative and creative approaches to using volunteers on public lands. The award winner will be recognized during the Take Pride in America National Awards Ceremony in Washington DC. Information on nomination requirements is enclosed.

    This is a tremendous opportunity to recognize the great work of our employees with volunteers. I believe it is very important for each MSC to nominate an individual!

    In addition to the Federal Land Manager Award, you may also nominate our outstanding volunteers, partners and programs directly on the Take Pride website: www.takepride.gov by 13 July 2012. (See second attachment) Nominated projects and efforts must have taken place between May 1, 2011 to April 30, 2012. Categories include:

    1. Individual
    2. Youth/ Youth Group  an individual our group of young people under the age of 18
    3. Non-Profit Organization  a civic group or 501(c)(3) organization
    4. Federal Volunteer Event/ Program  a federal agency, project, or program
    5. Local Government Event/ Program  a city, county or otherwise local government event, project or program
    6. State Event/ Program  a statewide event, project or program
    7. Public/ Private Partnership  a partnership project between a government agency and a private business or corporation, youth, civic or non-profit organization
